Y6: Primary College

What a fantastic two days Year 6 had last week at Primary College! This annual event is always a brilliant opportunity for pupils to step outside their comfort zones, broaden their horizons and experience something completely new before making the exciting move to secondary school.

Across the two days, the children threw themselves into a huge range of workshops and activities, many of which they had never tried before. Whether they were getting creative, solving problems, developing practical skills or discovering new interests, it was wonderful to see everyone embracing each experience with enthusiasm and an open mind.

One of the best parts of Primary College is the opportunity to meet pupils from other local schools. It was lovely to see new friendships beginning to form as the children worked together, encouraged one another and grew in confidence. Hopefully, when they walk through the doors of secondary school in September, there will already be plenty of familiar faces waiting for them.

I was so impressed with the way Year 6 represented Southill throughout the two days. Their behaviour was impeccable, their attitudes were excellent and they approached every workshop with positivity, curiosity and respect. The staff running the sessions commented on what a credit they were to the school, which was fantastic to hear.

Most importantly, they had an enormous amount of fun! A huge well done to every member of Year 6 for making the most of such a brilliant experience. We are all incredibly proud of you.
