Y6: We Heart Biology!
Wow, what an extremely fascinating and highly hands-on finish to our science unit! In this unit, through diagrams, explanations, exercise investigations, research, posters and presentations, Year 6 have investigated the following 'sticky knowledge' questions:
What is the circulatory system?
How does our heart work?
How does exercise affect heart rate?
What does the blood transport?
How can I live a healthy lifestyle?
What can damage our health?
Finally, we answered the question 'What does a real heart look like?' by dissecting actual lambs' hearts. Everyone was so brave, as it can be something that doesn't sound initially appealing. I was so impressed with the resilience on display and at how keen everyone was to learn. Well done Year 6!
