Friday 10 October 2025 Y6: Volley Ball Skills! In PE this term, Year 6 are working on their Volleyball skills. Today they were practising 2 different ways of serving the ball over the net into the opposition's side - underhand, with a fist under the ball, and overhand where you throw the ball up and hit it over. All the pupils in the class worked well together as ever, and everyone was really resilient and determined to perfect their serves. They'll be legends on the beach next summer! Well done, Year 6.

Saturday 27 September 2025 Windsurfing and Chesil Beach! For their first trip as Year 6, our brilliant class were treated to an amazing experience: a windsurfing lesson at Portland Marina. The excellent and highly experienced staff at the OTC Watersports Centre provided an unforgettable activity, as all the pupils got to try out this adventurous sport for the first time in a setting which is literally fit for Olympians! Some of our class even got to meet some Olympic athletes in training. This experience was a great way for all the pupils to try something new, develop their confidence and go out of their comfort zones in a fun and safe environment. The class worked together so well - they cheered each other on and gave each other words of encouragement and guidance.

Friday 19 September 2025 Leila and the Blue Fox Our writing topic for this half term is based on a wonderful book called 'Leila and the Blue Fox'. The story follows Leila, a child who had to flee Syria when she very young and settle in London, and whose Mother left her to live with her aunt as she moved to Norway to study rare arctic animals. Leila goes on a trip to Norway to visit her mother, and joins her on an expedition to study the very rare and fascinating Blue Arctic Fox. In parallel to this, we follow the blue Arctic fox as it embarks on a long migration across the Arctic circle.

Friday 12 September 2025 Our first week in Year 6! Year 6 have truly settled into their role of being the oldest in the school! We've had an action packed first week, as they hit the ground running on Monday with a full learning timetable. As well as that, we've done a lot of work on routines, expectations and what it means to be a member of Year 6. All of the children have done an excellent job of getting getting back into the swing of things.
